We will explore a variety of brain-based approaches that involve learners emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually. These methods will help you facilitate meaningful dialogue and reflection, differentiate instruction, and maximize social-emotional learning and academic or training outcomes. We will explore:

-Experiential, brain-based strategies to actively engage learners physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually

-New research from the field of educational neuroscience and its impact on learning and social-emotional skills development

-Interactive activities and teaching techniques to cultivate important social and emotional skills such as: communication, social problem-solving, relationship skills, collaboration and cooperation, self-regulation, responsible decision-making, self-awareness, emotional expression and reflection

-Innovative reflection tools and techniques to increase relevancy, meaning, depth of understanding, and connection to future learning situations

-The role of the educator as guide, and the importance of flexibility, attitude, adaptation, and awareness of group and individual needs and differences
